Adjectives are the words that describe nouns and pronouns. For example: fast, happy, etc.
There are eight types of adjectives. They are-
1. Adjective of Quality- It is used to describe the quality of a noun. Example -
• This is a nice car.
• Raghav is a good student.
2. Adjective of Quantity- It is used to indicate the amount of things but not the exact number. Example-
• I need some money.
• Gayatri ate the whole cake.
• Adjective of Number- It tells us the exact number of things, or their order in a series of things. Example-
• I bought two cakes.
• Ten students are absent.
• Possessive Adjective- It shows possession. Example-
• Please return his book.
• Our teacher is very kind.
• Demonstrative Adjective- It is used to point at people or things. Example-
• Those boys are naughty.
• That bird is hurt.
• Distributive Adjective- It is used to refer to each and every person or thing separately. Example-
• Each participant was asked to complete a survey.
• Either of these movies would be interesting to me.
• Interrogative Adjective- It is used to ask questions. Example-
• Whose bag is this?
• What colour is your new car?
• Proper Adjective- They are words that modify nouns and are formed from a proper noun. Example-
• The Southern Plateau has an uneven land.
• Aryabhatt was an Indian mathematician.
